What’s the BowWow Inn?
The BowWow Inn is highly personalized in-home boarding for your dog—and only your dog. The BowWow is comprised of one safe, peaceful home, one lush fenced-in yard, one dog-loving human who works part time from home, and—at times—one canine guest. With the exception of canine siblings, only one dog at a time can stay at the BowWow. That means your four-legged family member will have my complete attention and reassuring full-time presence, day and night. My mission is to building a trusting, loving relationship with your pet, while giving you total peace of mind while you’re away. This 1:1 approach allows me to individualize care for consistency and harmony as your dog transitions between home and the BowWow. And it helps me sensitively address and attend to any unique needs or idiosyncrasies of your pet, such as:
- Specialized diets and strict feeding routines
- Anxious temperment or easily triggered nervousness
- High affection / attention requirements
- Fear of strangers—whether humans or other dogs
- Older dogs who need extra TLC or gentle encouragement
Your Doggie Dos & Don’ts, Honored
Rest assured, if at home your pup has been trained to remain off of furniture, then that’s how we’ll roll at the BowWow. On the other hand, if a canine cuddle on the sofa is the norm at home, then my approach will lean that way. The spirit of the relationship you’ve built with your dog, as well as comfort-enhancing practices and day-to-day routines you’ve established over time will be respected and embraced for consistency. My goal, ultimately, is to provide your beloved pup with a peaceful yet playful experience that feels as close as possible to the essence of day-to-day life at home, with you.
Canine Creature Comforts
You‘re most welcome to bring as many (or as few) doggy gear items with your precious canine cargo for stays of any length. Some folks bring crates, favorites toys / blankets, feeding dishes, etc., others don’t. Either approach, or somewhere in between, is just fine. You know your dog best — and I will lean on your relationship and expertise to guide my care. And of course my North Star guidance will come from what your pup is conveying through behavior, vocalizing, and so on. I work patiently to establish a trusting relationship.
Fenced-in Field o’ Sniff Spots
All of the BowWow’s four-legged guests seem to enjoy the aroma feast of past doggy visitors all around the house, and there are lots of comfy spots to chill inside. But the real excitement is out back. Many a pup are daily practitioners of what appears to be a highly addictive pastime I call ‘perimeter patrol’. Apparently, just along that six-foot fence line is where all the best smells linger and sniffing spots abound. If you’re the curious type, here’s a great American Kennel Club article about the benefits of sniff spots. Interested in simply a private Sniff Date for you and your dog? That’s possible! They’re booked in one hour time blocks at $10. Humans must remain inside secured fence with their dog(s) at all times. And kindly use supplies and receptacle for doggie’s doo. Cuz they do so love to doo.
